Program Overview:

The children’s Catechism program strives to support parents in passing on their Ukrainian Catholic faith to the children who attend. We are so happy to see young families participate and are edified by their commitment to raise their children with knowledge of the teachings and traditions of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.  first communion 2014Our program is open to all children who would like to experience the Ukrainian Catholic Faith.  The children who attend our program are friendly, kind, and faithful kids who will make anyone attending feel welcome.  They have a great time making connections and playing together in our Church hall at the beginning of each Catechism evening.  They typically arrive early so they can spend time together.catechism playtimeAt 6:30 the children meet with Fr. Basil for his message. At 6:40 the children go to their classes.  We have talented and dedicated teachers who bring the children through their lessons.  At 7:40, the children gather in the church to pray together and sing praises to God.  The children’s choir leads the congregation in singing one Sunday a month.  The data projector is used to guide the children through the Divine Liturgy encouraging them to participate in a way that is alive, awake, alert, and enthusiastic.  We give our best to God!children's choirAt 8:00, or shortly before, the children are dismissed and most choose to stay a while so that they can continue building their Church friendships and have fun together.  We encourage this because God created us to live and worship in relationship.  We need each other to build the Kingdom of God.
