Pastoral Message

Glory be to Jesus Christ!  As we  celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our beautiful parish on October 8 & 9, 2016, we must be thankful to God our Heavenly Father for all the blessings we have seen in our parish over the decades. Yes, modern society has changed greatly in these 50 years, but the Word of God has not!  Our Father in Heaven still asks us to be the face of Jesus to everyone we meet, every single day of our lives! So to all parish members past and present, to all guests and friends of our parish community, let us indeed celebrate these past 50 years of St. Athanasius parish with joy and happiness, but also remember that God’s work through us is always ongoing. We still have work to do according to Christ’s mission to us, and let us accept this challenge with great joy and gladness! God Grant you many years!

God Bless!

Fr. Basil Malowany

Responsible Parish Ministry Protocol

The Archdiocese of Regina Protocol for Responsible Parish Ministry website has been used to prepare the following PDF files summarizing each section of the protocol versus a large collection of individual PDF documents.

Compared to the June 1st version of the Covenant of Care the nature of Section2 seems to fit better with the Catechism and Sunday School programs that are currently in place at St. Athanasius.

More than 100 people attended the brunch which consisted of a hashbrown casserole, sausages, ham, scrambled eggs, pancakes with whipped topping and strawberries, coffee, juice and fresh fruit.
The hall was decorated in green and white colors with many Saskatchewan Roughrider throws hanging on the walls. Thanks to Stella Manchur for loaning us the throws as part of our decorations.

A charity item consisting of a 1/50 scale Pink Case 580 Loader Backhoe “The Case Crusaders-Digging for a Cure” and a Breast Cancer Teddy Bear along with other items donated by Cabela’s Regina and Red Lobster Regina were auction off for $210.00 to Wanda Bilyk. The Saint Athanasius branch of the U.C.B.C. chose to donate the proceeds towards cancer research. A cheque from the St. A’s U.C.B.C. in the amount of $210.00 was presented to Karla Gervais to support her as one of the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles Core Riders for the Mission 2017 ride for breast cancer research. The mission will start on January 29, 2017 in Hudson Bay, Sk. And finish on February 3, 2017 in star City, Sk., a six day ride covering 1400 km’s throughout the province of Saskatchewan. All money raised goes to cancer research or towards purchasing equipment.

Saint Athanasius branch of the U.C.B.C is proud to be part of this auction and to be able to support the research for a cure for cancer. Thank you to all who contributed and we hope that you will come out and support us at the 2nd Annual Regina Collectible Toy Auction.
